Please be advised that, in accordance with the Constitution, the Annual General Meeting of Singapore Students' Society - La Trobe University will be held as follows:

Date: 9 April 2009
Time: 5pm to 6.30pm
Venue: TBC

These are the positions that are open for election: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Club and Society Delegate, Social Representative, Cultural Representative, Welfare Representative, and Media Manager. You can play a part in this election by nominating your friends!

The nomination process is as follows:
The candidate must be nominated and seconded by 2 different members of SingSoc, e.g. A, B, and C are members of SingSoc. The running candidate, A is nominated by B, and seconded by C.
The nomination form will be filled up and submitted by the Nominator.
The candidate must be aware of the nomination and gives his/her consent for the nomination.
The candidate must be aware of the role and fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

In the elections:
In the instance where there is only 1 candidate for a position, a walk-over is granted and the sole contender will assume the position in the AGM.
If there are 2 or more candidates for a position, an election will be held during the AGM.
In that situation, candidates will be required to prepare a speech. A vote by a show of hands will determine the final bearer.

Do take note that the candidate would be required to serve in the committee from April 2009 to April 2010, when the next annual AGM is held. Therefore, please make sure that the candidate that you nominate would be available to serve in the committee till then.

All nomination forms should be filled in electronically and sent via email info@ltusingsoc.org by 2pm on Tuesday, 7th April 2009. Forms will be collated and sent out with a list of all contenders as well as the AGM agenda to all members by noon on 8th April, Wednesday.
