Hope you all are still surviving well amidst all the tests, assignments and reports! Hang in there, the worst is going to be over in around a month's time! If you need any help trying to organise everything or just need talk to someone please feel free to contact us! We'll be more than happy to help you in anyway we can.

SingSoc will be organising its first cultural event in 2009 - Dumpling Festival! Remember all the ba zhangs/nonya zhangs hanging from raffia strings in the stores? Well if you are missing them this is definitely going to be a fruitful event for you! Other than being able to eat the dumplings and reminisce about the good-old-days in Singapore, we'll be teaching you step-by-step how to wrap your own dumpling! At the end of the year you could then go back and impress everyone with your dumpling making skills. =)

Here are the details!

SingSoc Dumpling Festival cum Workshop 2009

Date: 6 June 2009, Saturday
Time: 3 to 7pm (or later) [5 - 7pm if not attending workshop]
Place: La Trobe University (Specific venue to be confirmed)
Cost: $7 (for 2 dumplings)

As the kitchen we're looking at has a limited capacity, please tell us if you are coming for the workshop or just dropping in to enjoy the homemade dumplings. The cost for the event would be the same for those attending and not attending the workshop. We'll do our best to accommodate everyone's choices, so please RSVP to yanqing@ltusingsoc.org by Thursday 28th May 2009.

Your RSVP should include the following details:

- Name
- Student ID
- Contact number
- Dietary requirements: Vegetarian/Halal/Normal
- Attending workshop ($7 per pax with and without workshop): Yes/No
- Number of additional dumplings ($3.50 each): Yes (How many?)/No

Please be sure that you'll be able to attend the event when you RSVP, we don't want to end up throwing lots of extra dumplings away! Hope to see you there at the Festival!
